Creating Folders and Labels
To add a new folder or label to one of your email accounts, hover over the header of the “Folders” or “Labels” section in the sidebar. If you’re using Unified Inbox, the section may display the name of your email account.
Click the “+” that appears to create a new folder or label and then type the name you’d like to use. When you’re done editing, type “Return” or “Enter” to create the new item.
Sub-folders and sub-labels
Right-click a folder or label in the sidebar and choose New Subfolder... (or New Sublabel...), type the name, and press Enter. The new item appears nested beneath its parent.
You can also nest by name: creating or renaming an item as Receipts/Uber places it inside Receipts. That's how you move an existing folder into another one — rename it and put the new parent's path in front of its name. Dragging folders around in the sidebar isn't supported.
Renaming and deleting
Right-click the folder or label and choose Rename or Delete. Deleting can't be undone, and it can take a few minutes for the change to sync back to Mailspring. System folders such as Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash, and Spam can't be renamed or deleted.
Other things you can do from the sidebar
- Mark All as Read — marks every unread conversation in that folder or label as read (undo is available).
- Export folder as .mbox file... / Export folder as .eml files... — saves a copy of every message in the folder to disk. Progress is shown in the bottom-left of the window. This is the easiest way to back up or archive a folder.
