• How do I make a signature the default for an account?Set a default signature for each account in Preferences > Signatures.
• How do I remove the "Sent from Mailspring" text from sent emails?Edit or delete the default signature to remove the tag-line from your emails.
• How are Office 365 "flagged" emails reflected in Mailspring?Office 365 flags appear as stars in Mailspring, with one caveat for completed flags.
• What data does Mailspring collect when I use the product?Exactly what Mailspring sends to its servers and which third-party services it uses.
• I'm receiving repeated / duplicate open and link tracking events - why?Turn off notifications for repeated opens and clicks in Preferences > General.
• How do I print an email?Print a conversation from the printer icon beside the subject line.
• Can I import mail from another email application? (.mbox, mail archive formats, etc)Mailspring syncs from your mail server rather than importing mbox archives.
• How do I open the main menu?Where to find Mailspring's main menu on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• My recipients see "{DISARMED}" in the subject line of emails I send from MailspringNorton Antivirus adds {DISARMED} to subjects of messages with tracking enabled.
• Can I move / transfer emails between connected accounts?Messages can be moved between folders within an account, but not between accounts.
• Why can't I label or archive certain email conversations?Labels are Gmail-only and Archive needs an archive folder, so the buttons vary in a unified inbox.
• Can I change the font, text size and color in the composer?Yes. Use the composer toolbar to change fonts, text size, and color.
• What is a Mailspring ID and why do I need one?What a Mailspring ID is for, which features need one, and how to delete it.
• How do I disable threading / conversation view?Mailspring groups messages into conversations; here's why and where to vote for a toggle.
• How do I open a thread / message in another window?Double-click a thread or use the pop-out icon to open it in its own window.
• Can I reply to or forward an email using a different account?Replies are sent from the account that received the message, though you can switch aliases.
• Why does Mailspring show "Important" markers—how can I turn them off?Hide Gmail's importance markers in Preferences > General.
• How do I hide / show the contact sidebar?Toggle the contact sidebar with the person icon in the toolbar.
• How do I turn off or disable link tracking / read receipts?Uncheck the tracking icons in the composer; Mailspring remembers your choice.
• Does Mailspring support proxy servers?Mailspring does not support proxy servers configured above the OS network layer.
• Can I change where Mailspring stores my mail?Where Mailspring keeps its cache on each platform, and how to move it with a symlink.
• How do I empty the trash / spam folder in Mailspring?Permanently delete everything in Trash or Spam using the Empty now bar.
• Does Mailspring support POP3 / POP?Mailspring supports IMAP only; POP3 support is not planned.
• Does Mailspring Support Exchange?Exchange Web Services and ActiveSync aren't supported, but IMAP and Microsoft 365 OAuth are.
• Does Mailspring sync my email through a third party server?No. Mailspring connects directly to your provider and never sends your credentials to the cloud.
• Does Mailspring support "Categories" from Gmail or "Bundles" from Google Inbox?Gmail's categories and Inbox bundles aren't available to third-party clients.
• How much does Mailspring cost?Mailspring is free; Mailspring Pro is $8/month or $85/year.
• How do I delete my Mailspring ID and all data stored on Mailspring servers? [GDPR]Permanently delete your Mailspring ID and all associated data from id.getmailspring.com.
• Managing your address book / contacts within MailspringView and edit contacts and contact groups for Google and CardDAV accounts.
• How do I enable IMAP for Google Apps?Ask your Google Workspace administrator to enable IMAP for your account.
• How do I enable the "All Mail" folder?Turn on Show in IMAP for All Mail so Mailspring can sync your Gmail account.
• When will Mailspring be available for iOS or Android?Mailspring is a desktop app; mobile versions aren't currently planned.
• My work email requires a VPN connection. Can I use it with Mailspring?Yes, Mailspring works over a VPN because it connects directly to your provider.
