Pro FeaturesYahoo requires that third-party email apps like Mailspring sign in with an app password rather than your regular Yahoo password. Creating one only takes a minute.
Create a Yahoo app password
- Sign in to Yahoo and open your Account Security settings.
- Click Generate app password (you may see it under "Other ways to sign in" or "App passwords").
- Give it a name like Mailspring and click Generate password.
- Copy the 16-character password Yahoo shows you.
Connect the account in Mailspring
In Mailspring, go to Preferences > Accounts, click +, and choose Yahoo. Enter your Yahoo email address and paste the app password in the password field.
Mailspring stores the app password in your system keychain and never sends it to our servers. If you ever want to revoke Mailspring's access, delete the app password from your Yahoo Account Security page.
